How the index works

Every day we read the wholesale price of every RTX 3050 and RTX 50 series card listed by a European IT distributor, then convert it to USD at that day's Norges Bank exchange rate. When a wholesale price is missing, the price follows in-stock Amazon listings in USD instead.

The first price for each GPU is the median of its cards. After that it moves by the average price change of the cards listed on both days, so a card joining or leaving the list does not move the line.

Before October 31, 2026 the lighter line is a rough monthly estimate: the first tracked price, scaled by how far Norwegian shop prices for three popular cards were from their current level.

No wholesale price right now: RTX 5090. These use in-stock Amazon prices in USD instead.

Most of these cards are out of stock at wholesale, so list prices can lag the market. Watch the trend rather than the exact number.
